1.0 Requirements:
Note: Starting AMPC version 1.x.x, minimum requirement is Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
1.1 X11 for Mac OS X
AMPC is built on top of Linux platform and it uses X11 as the X windows server.
Thus, for Mac users, X11 for Mac OS X is required. To install X11 for
Mac OS X, you can get it from CD-ROM #3 or Mac OSX Disc 1 DVD.
For the DVD, you can go to the hidden directory by:
o go to menu Go> Go to Folder... and type System.
o Then, open the Installation and then the Packages directory.
You will find the X11User.pkg in this directory.
o To install, double-click X11User.pkg file and
follow the installation instructions.
Or, you can also get the X11 for Mac OS X at this website :

or directly from here.
Note: X11 for Mac OS X requires Mac OS X version 10.3.x
o Download the X11 and save X11user.dmg file in your computer.
The size of the file is 43MB.
o Open Finder and browse to the location where you saved the file.
o Then double-click the X11User.dmg file to open the CD Image file.
o To install, double-click X11User.pkg file and
follow the installation instructions.
1.2 Xcode Tools for Mac OS X
The Xcode tools can be obtained from Mac OS X Install Disc 1 or you can
download it at this website http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/
Note : You have to be an ADC (Apple Development Connection) member before
you can download the software for Mac OS X developers.
1.2.1 Install from Mac OS X Disc
o Insert Mac OS X Disc 1
o Open Mac OS X Disc 1 Window
o To open, Double-click Xcode Tools directory.
o To install, double-click Xcode tools.mpkg file.
1.2.2 Download from Apple website
o Download the Xcode tools and save Xcode Tools 1.5 CD Image
(XocdeTools1.5_CD.dmg) in your computer. The size of the file
is 372.4MB.
o Open Finder and browse to the location where you saved the file.
o Double-click the XcodeTools1.5_CD.dmg file.
o To install, double-click the XcodeTools.mpkg file.
1.3 Java 2 Standard Edition(J2SE).
You can download it at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/javaupdate142.html
or directly from here.
o Download the latest version Java 1.4.2 Update 2 (Java142Update2.dmg) file.
The size of the file is 26MB.
o Open Finder and browse to the location where you saved the file.
o Double-click the Java142Update2.dmg file.
o To install, double-click Java142Update2.pkg file.
2.0 AMPC
2.1 Getting and Installing AMPC
o Download ampc-macosx-1.x.x.zip file from http://www.axiomsol.com.
o Unpack the file ampc-macosx-1.x.x.zip
o Then to install, go to directory ampc-macosx-1.x.x
o Then, copy ampcgui (ampcgui.app) into user's home directory.
o Double click ampcgui (ampcgui.app) to start using it. (See NOTE below)
The ampcgui will install the relevant files into user's home directory and
set the correct permissions on the files.
NOTE: You need to install license key information to complete the installation process.
2.2 Install license key information
o Open terminal and change to directory ampc-macosx-1.x.x
o Execute the install-license file to complete the installation process.

2.3 Un-install AMPC
o To un-install, delete the ampcgui (ampcgui.app) file.
o Then, go to ampc-macosx-1.0 directory (the one you extract from downloaded file).
o Execute the uninstall.sh file script. This script will completely
remove AMPC from your computer system.
Note : All files and packages have been pre-compiled on Mac OS X 10.3.8
(Panther), Macintosh powerpc G4 machine.
